What is a fallacy?
a mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound arguments.
Bandwagon Fallacy
In this fallacy people generally conclude that a proposition must be true because many or most people believe it.- Example:- People are more likely to vote for the candidate that they think is winning.
The Appeal to Authority Fallacy
In this fallacy the opinion of an authority on a topic is used as evidence to support an argument.- Example:- A commercial claims that a specific brand of cereal is the best way to start the day because athlete Michael Jordan says that it is what he eats every day for breakfast.
The Hasty Generalization Fallacy
In The Hasty Generalization Fallacy people jump to conclusions reached on the basis of one or a few instances of that phenomenon.- Example:- When I was young, my dad and brothers never helped with the household chores.
